swarm-list Mailing List: Free top bar hive of possibly defensive bees -

[Paula Breen (paulaellen70]

Abby in Oakland called to offer up her top bar hive. She says that about 2 months ago a swarm moved in to her empty top bar. She needed to move the hive to accommodate some work happening to the house and she says that the bees "came after her". From her telling they were defensive even before she moved the hive to a different location in the yard. Perhaps highly defensive, perhaps grumpy from being mucked about? Who is up for finding out? Near Fruitvale and East 27th.

Best,

Paula
