swarm-list Mailing List: Mystery in San Jose

[Paula Breen (paulaellen70]

Cynthia called because she said she has a lemon tree that's about 10 ft tall and she reports that there's been a lot of bee activity in the tree for 2 weeks. She doesn't see a swarm cluster and the tree isn't full of flowers. In my experience lemon trees don't have trunks large enough that would support a colony living inside of them. Not sure what's going on here but she was wondering if somebody could help her out. I advised she should probably call the Santa Clara Guild and see if a local would come out and assess the situation. If you happen to live in that area and want to identify what is going on, she can be reached at 917-575-5984. She lives on Laurie Ave in San Jose.

Best,

Paula
