Sometimes the first person who responds doesn’t get a swarm assigned to them.
This could be because someone else is closer and could get there faster.
Or because they got one recently and the next person who responded next hasn’t gotten one yet.
Sometimes a swarm seems especially complicated and the volunteer who took the call decides to assign it to someone they know is very experienced.
Or because it is a very easy one and would be good for a new swarm catcher.
Please feel free to put in a claim for any swarm, just be aware that a variety of factors go into the assigning of them by the hotline volunteer who took the call. There is discretion in how they get assigned and it's not always simply the first person who responds gets the swarm.
