Berkeley report of several bee attacks at this spot -URGENT

Caller is a resident nearby 585 Euclid and sent this photo. Property is owned
by an elderly invalid named Greg and the caller, Chris, has promised to reach
out to us for help. His number is 510-708-3638. You can call him if you would
like him to join you at the site.

chris was stung while jogging by 4 days ago by what he initially thought was a
YJ because of the behavior ( followed him aggressively, came from the shrubbery
on the ground). In the last few days however there have been more people stung
and witnesses report a small cloud of “bees” following people who are not
disturbing the area but just passing by. Yesterday it was reported by a
gardener who saw it happen that a man passing by was followed by a cloud of
bees and had to go to the hospital with about 50 stings. Gardener reported
that stingers were pulled out so if true they were not YJ.

Behavior is inconsistent for Honey Bees but possibly explained by the report
of heavy yard work done near by and possibly a colony was dislodged from a tree
and landed in the area noted in the photo.

The caller had put up sign boards alerting the public to the area and hopes
someone can go to the location and make an assessment.

This is a public service urgent call. If you live near 585 Euclid and can go
see what’s going and report back the swarm list that would be great. Please
let the list know you are going.
