Hi Blake,
It wasn't clear in your email who had complained about missing swarm-list emails.
No Swarm-Hotline email in the last two days. Nobody is missing anything.
For the Swarm-Hotline, Two incidences of Misbehavior of Google's "Group" processing caused ACBA management to move swarm-list email
to a distribution-method unencumbered by google tech interference. (Pipermail) Our Webmaster set up an instance for us.
Perception:
What seems to interfere with receiving email from "Lists" like swarm-list [at] alamedabees.org is filtering along the way.
Filtering can happen when mail gets to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). (like squeezing emails through Gmail)
(filtering is what removes the porn, and a lot of the mal-ware from your inbox, so it's not all bad.)
When the aggressiveness of filtering is too high, it unjustifiably brands some lists from passing through (causing mail to disappear)
or unjustifiably diverts it to a "Junk" or "spam" folder, or possibly even your "Trash" folder.
Mail can be filtered out based on a "signature" that makes it look like other junk. Content, originator, and Format are factors.
We need to be alert to symptoms of missed email. For instance, seeing a response to a swarm announcement without seeing the announcement.
(refresh your client, and look through the list of emails for the last hour or so)
The hardest thing about solving intermittent problems is identifying where the problem lies, because the mail passes through so many hops, and and email processing programs.
Sleuthing:
• Dealing with the Local causes, like your Email-Client:
We may personally be able to effect a fix here.
Here the focus is on Microsoft's Outlook, Apple Mail, Eudora (proprietary), Mozilla's Thunderbird (open-source), and others.
Email can be "Blessed" (given a free token to pass filtering) by having the Originator added into the email-Addresses book (contact list) of the email client.
Some email clients hook directly into the "Address Book" on the computer. (apple, microsoft, ios, android)
PUT swarm-list [at] alamedabees.org into your Address Book everywhere.
i.e. Your phone, your laptop, your desktop, any computer you get swarm-hotline email on.
• Debug by Bypassing your email client:
If your ISP has filtering tuned too narrowly, you my have to open a "service-ticket" with your ISP to request they let swarm-list [at] alamedabees.org
through All the time. I.e. treat it like person-to-person email.
Use your Browser to check mail at the Email-Portal of your ISP; checking there bypasses any filtering your Email-Client might use.
If still missing swarm-list emails, up the ante.
• Debug by bypassing network or ISP filtering:
Use your Browser to navigate Archive User-Interface URL of the Swarm-List. All the swarm email is captured there.
Visit https://lists.alamedabees.org/pipermail/swarm-list/
If you don't see it there, the email didn't go through pipermail.
So most of this sleuthing will be Do-It-Yourself.
When you think you have it nailed down, you may be able to fix it, or develop a work-around.

If you're using gmail and are not getting any messages from the Swarm List, check your spam folder.I suspect someone convinced gmail that the Swarm List is spamming. Not only are messages being sent to the spam folder, anyone associated with the email is blocked.Happened following some controversy on the list about a week ago.Pretty sure this only affects gmail and has happened before.
