Christine called again to say she watched the bees take off and leave, so it was a swarm that she couldn't see in the yard and they are gone now. Possibly a secondary swarm following in the flight pattern from a swarm a few days ago...

Today I received a call from Christine at 1029 Auburn Ct off Mc Carthy on Bay Farm ISle about bees in her yard. She has a great deal of pollinator plants in her yard and has many honey and native bees coming through to forage. A few days ago she had a huge number of bees in her yard and she suspected a swarm had landed, but she could not find a clump. The bees were very active and she felt like they were almost frantic in the yard. Yesterday the yard was back to normal number of bees around but again today they are flying around in huge numbers and again rather frantic. We discussed a lot of possible explanations but none of them really made complete sense and she would love for a beekeeper to drop by and take a look at her yard. One possibility is that there was a swarm and they took up residence somewhere in her yard that she missed and they are now inside a structure and not visible to her., but that does not fully explain the frantic bees today. If you have the bandwidth to stop by and take a look she would be very pleased. Very nice woman who loves all the bees that come to her yard!Christine1029 Auburn Ct--Pamela WeimerUrban BeekeeperRetired Teacher and Coach
