Nils, Robin,
I didn't mention cost to the EBMUD guy (510) 287 2763
I did ask how long they had been there;  he said he didn't know.

279 Smith Road, Alamo

He never did give me the contact info of the home owner, or have the home owner call me.
So securing permission to do the job is still open.

If it just moved in and has a bit of comb on the top, it's easy. - virtually a swarm

If it turns out to be a chore extracting comb all the way to the bottom, it could be a mess.
I don't know if it'll be possible to negotiate a job with ebmud.

I'm waiting for info from the home owner since the box appears to be on private property in the middle of the yard rather than a parking strip
