They were queenless and lots of them were flying around confused but luckily there was a fake queen pheromone stick in the kit bag and as soon as some of the bees got collected and placed in the nuc box along with it, the flyers started to rush in, (if you don't have a queen pheromone stick in your kit, I highly recommend them - available online from Mann Lake). The homeowners were 2 wonderful women who filled the car seat with bags of Myer lemons and oranges! They also had these little "cat shelves" on the fence which made leaving the nuc box there till this evening super convenient. What a lovely Sunday swarm experience!
