hmmmwhen old victorian is mentioned, I think - those cast-iron drain-waste-vent pipes on the side of the building that connect to the bathrooms. Bees entering via gaps around those wall-penetrations is common... and colonies under the floor of the bathroom.
Under the second story bathroom will probably require getting them out via the ceiling of the bathroom below. Plus lath-and-plaster.
