I went this afternoon and the bees left right as I was arriving in scattered fashion. I walked down the block and many were flying around a garden but not congregating on anything. About twenty minutes later they regrouped back at the original site and were fanning. I placed a frame out like a bridge between the base of the tree where they were and the nuc box. Many began gathering there but I then discovered a small secondary clump on the ground a couple feet away. Sadly, it turned out they were surrounding a dead queen. I put her in the box and they all followed. I just now returned to pick them up and they were still in there. I will attempt to add them to one of my hives tomorrow using the newspaper method.

Just arrived and callers convinced her sees the queen walking around.  At base of tree maybe trying to get in maybe resting the queen.

A quick job to get a swarm box down and get these girls inside if someone can go now.
