I'm pretty strongly a safety-first kinda guy.   OSHA makes rules for good reason.
(step) Ladders can lead to dangerous situations especially with the long lever arm of a 20 foot pole, and
a few pounds of bees in the bucket. 
Extension ladders propped up against branches is also scary.  It might slide along the branch as the branch bends.
We don't wanna visit you in a hospital, or send you get-well cards.
