Interesting.
so, when I get an extraction call, and they ask me to post it, even if it's from an adjacent county,
I give the caller my number, and tell him/her to call back if they don't get a nibble within 2 or 3 days.
Only occasionally do I get a call.
Sometimes I would ping people I know with a reminder, sometimes I just repost it.
If they're outside of Alameda county, I suggest they widen their search to the local club's website.
With adjacent counties having phone number lists, with the frustration of telephone tag, there's nobody in the club to direct traffic.
The Marin club was talking about doing a workshop to teach interested members about the
ins-and-outs of extractions because the few people in the county who do them seem to be overworked.
One fallback is that Khalid, who doesn't seem to be a member of any club, is a name we can name.
The club can't really play favorites. We can't keep a list of 'approved/recommended' members who do the extraction jobs.
Once posted we have no idea whether some member is forwarding the leads to someone else they know.
When concern for the bees was expressed, I would say, 'you've come to the right place' because you'll get calls from
beekeepers who do these jobs and keep the bees (or pass them on). With Craigslist you never know.
