- please try to handle the response to your announcement.
The swarm-list was constituted in a way that would cut down on "pile-ups" of beekeepers
going to collect the same swarm.
It really helps, Karen, if you follow the swarm list model of
• posting - the - approximate - location,
• Take - a - first - responder's - Claim,
• and Passing the info to person directly.
It avoids conflict when multiple beeks show up at the same time, or
someone arrives late, wasting a trip for nothing,
or perish the thought, pilfered equipment.
If you pass the info on to a friend, or someone else in the family, that's totally great. Less work for the hotline volunteers.
After all, it's our service to the community, and the way we pay it back or pay it forward. And the bees get taken care of.
