It looks to me like it's about 15 to 20 feet up.
This is not a Ladder job,  nor could it possibly be a bucket-pole job.
Do you have a friend with a cherry-picker?
Otherwise probably too dangerous to try to retrieve.

This is between a business and a residence.
This was not called in by the business.

One would think it would have been mentioned to the business by now.
I  called the business today. The person I talked to said it might actually be on the land of the home next door.

It was called in today for the first time by a passer-by who thought it was a basketball size swarm.
Nobody so far has complained about it.

Yes, there are 7 or 8 planes of comb.

They're doing fine, apparently.  A bad windstorm could give them trouble.
Otherwise, it'll probably make it through winter.

So I'm inclined to leave them alone.
We can't get 'em all.

I'm in Pleasanton and can get them if homeowner wants them removed

A few years ago I moved a colony out of a redwood tree into a hive in January. They seemed to be thriving even exposed to the cold wet weather.  They had great local genetics and became my strongest colony

Oooh that's a colony I think!  You can see the comb. Go prepared!
