If anyone really wants to temporarily disable their subscription, let me know and I can do it for you.

But I would recommend instead that people set up a filter on their end, as described here. That way you can do whatever you want with them -- for example, you can file them into a folder, and when you come back, you can just "select all" and delete everything in the folder if you're not interested.
