I want to respond to Becky's email message about her box since I feel that some misunderstanding has occurred about the bee claim.

I did not know about a "large box" and did not see one. The property owner did not tell me about another bee keeper. Only after returning to my office did I see her email.  If I had known about a box, I would have look for it, and, if found, would have assumed that someone else might have a claim on these bees.

The swarm list notified me that the bees were available and that I could obtain.them, which I immediately did. I will return tonight to collect them.

I have captured the bees and there are in a box along the lower pathway.  They had come from the property at 625 Adam.
It was a difficult catch as they were entangled in cross limbs of a thorny lemon tree. It took several swaps as many bees kept returning even though I had 80% in box from the first swipe.  It took about 6 thrusts and brushings. By the time I left, there were few returning. Many along the box's top were fanning indicating the queen resides within.
I'll return tonight to bundle them up. They will have a home at the Box Car Flower Garden in west Oakland.
Thank you swarm list

The swarm reporter won’t be able to confirm that the swarm is still there until after 2. The swarm is in a neighbor’s back yard. Access to the yard is available through a gate between the two properties. The neighbor is not in the house (they’re staging it for sale).

I wedged a large box containing some unprocessed wax in the tree to see if they might move in.

Still available....update...

Becky looked at this swarm.  It is a good size swarm btwn a football and a watermelon.  It is tightly wrapped around a few branches of the orange tree.  The ground is uneven so she felt it was not safe for her to go further.  But if you have the equipment for this swarm...it is available.

Please leave your name and phone number when claiming. Make sure you can go right away. Once bees are collected in your box, the box needs to stay and you will come back to collect after dark. Thank you 😁

from a Beek's hive, she doesn't have time to collect.

About 10ft up, basketball size
