I suggested putting some screen over the knot hole in the tree while all 
the bees are in,
getting the trimming done, and then ripping the screen off.
Install after dark or really early.

The other alternative is to loan some bee veils or jackets to the 
workmen until the job is done.

The other alternative is to get the work done when the temperature is 
below 50F

The 4th is doing the work after dark when the bees are in.
