We were deep cleaning all our animal enclosures on our little suburban homestead so I wasn’t near my phone to see the posts about this swarm in our general area until a friend reached out to us. We also hit commuter traffic that slowed our arrival, but we did arrive within 30 minutes of being given the address.
The next part that didn’t go well is that the person who called the swarm line wasn’t responding to his phone or texts upon our arrival to point us in the right direction.
The kids and I looked and looked…then suddenly we HEARD the bees. Looked up and a massive swarm was flying over us FAR into the Open Space and far away from any other homes or people.
Jerry: thanks for the tip that most calls come in between noon and 4pm. I’ll try to monitor my phone better during those hours.
