Thank you to everyone who offered help and advice on this second-story swarm in Fremont. This was a two-day-er. Here is how it went down:
1. Yesterday I went up a ladder with a bucket. The bees were in an
awkward spot about 20 feet up, the bucket didn't fit, and I realized the
ladder was unsafe and backed down.
2.
Yesterday I returned with a box on a pole. I took down about 4 decent
size wax combs with quite a bit of pollen and nectar stores. I got
about 1/3 of the bees. There was interest in front of the hive - but the
remaining cluster hung tight.
3. This morning I
returned with a beevac on a pole. It was too heavy and bent/broke my
pole. I called Sung. He drove an hour on an already busy day to assist
me. He had a great idea to offer them a frame on a pole. We taped the
pole back together and presented the bees under the eave some built
out foundation. They liked it, and climbed aboard. After several
iterations, all but about 15-20 hovering bees were in the box. I returned after dark and retrieved my bees!

Caller sent another photo which definitely show it is honey bees.
You would need to bring a ladder. Anyone available? Please include your phone number and email address.
