Add some branches inside the box, or some frames of drawn comb, so they can climb up and not sit on top of each other.

Watch out about cardboard boxes. Two years ago, I caught a huge swarm which I placed in a cardboard box. In the half hour it took to travel home, they suffocated.  Now, I use a perforated basket with frames so that there is adequate air flow and space for the bees to move around.

Hi Will,

The folks in San Leandro where you picked up your last swarm let me know that the whole swarm was not collected, and another call had to go out to the Swarm hotline the following day to finish the job. If you do go to pick up these bees, please make sure that you get them all and don't take them home until after dark.

I don’t see a reply to this one, looks like it’s been a couple hours. If no one else wants it, I can get it on my way home.
